Vocabulary Terms
If you are like most of our clients, printing terms are likely not part of your daily vocabulary. We try to avoid the use of industry-specific terms whenever possible, but sometimes they are required. To ensure we are on the same page, we've defined a few of the more common printing terms below.

2-color
A two-color printed piece uses only two inks. Generally one of these color is black, but it can be any two colors. Many times the ink choices are based on the colors in your logo
4-color
Four color printing doesn't mean your finished product would have just four colors. In printing terms, it means that we can use almost any color of the rainbow and include full color photos, illustrations and graphics. As you can imagine, four color printing gives the designers a lot more flexibility.
Overprint
This is the term for printing your facility's information on our preprinted, full color covers.
Pocket Cover
Our pocket covers allow the book covers to have one or two pockets that can be used to insert additional printed items such as flyers, forms, brochures, etc.
Total Customization
Total customization is completely customizing the front, inside front, inside back and back covers using any photos and any additional information you provide to us.
